grandpa's party

Grandpa's 80th birthday party went great!  It was so awesome to see everyone and the weather was delightful and rainfree!!  What luck!!  I am so glad Dave was able to meet more of my extended family.  Grandpa got a spiffy new ride for his birthday!

   

We Made It

We made it to Michigan okay.  Nathan traveled well and he seems to be adjusting just fine.  He slept for a pretty long stretch last night, thank goodness.  We are exhausted.  Wendy got through traveling pretty well too. 

Baby Laughter

Nathan laughed yesterday.  We were listening to Raffi and I had him standing on the kitchen table dancing to the music and he laughed.  It was a big loud laugh with a couple of squeals in there too.  It was the best!!   We have heard him giggle a couple of times when he is drifting to sleep.. but this was on purpose and it was a laugh!  The past week or so he had been making this fake cough sound when he is really happy, I was wondering if he was trying to laugh; and he was, because when he was dancing he did that fake cough a couple of times before he started laughing.  Poor Dave hasn't heard it yet.

Well Dave and I feel pretty queasy about traveling tomorrow.  I will be very glad to get it over with. 

 

3 months old

Nathan is three months old now.  We will have to take his 4 month photo while we are in Michigan.  Yippie....

We are working on packing this weekend.  I have Nate's suitcase packed.  And I am pulling aside what will need to go in his carry on.  I am in the middle of gathering our clothes and I think our suitcase should be pretty lite.  We took Wendy to the Vet yesterday to get her health certificate.  She is ready to go.  Tonight she is going to get a bath.

Is this sad or what

Man!! Our TV is broken!  The light bulb is burnt out... it gave us no indication that it was getting to the end of its life.. it just quit!!  Dude we have to order a replacement that will take weeks!! What will we do? Guess our tiny tv will have to fill in while we wait.

Bingo night

Days keep coming... our upcoming travels are all that's on our minds. Woof!  Getting ready to take a 3 month old on a long day of traveling is stressful.

 

In other news the third new baby in Dave's office was born today.  Babies babies everywhere.... In the less than one year since I got pregnant nearly everyone I know has had a baby....

 

• Late July 07 Rachel had her baby boy
• Early August Dawn had her baby girl
• Mid August my friend Amanda had a baby girl
• October my friend Chrissy had a baby boy
• January my friend Val had a baby boy
• Early March my friend Jamie had her baby girl
• Early April my friend Leslie has a baby boy
• mid April my friend Vickie had a baby boy
• mid April Dave's coworker Tony's wife had a baby boy
• late April my cousin Jill had a baby girl
• Today Dave's co-worker Pete's wife had a baby boy

both of our upstairs neighbors are pregnant due in Sept I believe.  CRAZY!!  Actually Vickie was our neighbor across the hall, they moved... But at one time all four couples in our building were pregnant INSANITY EH?

Well, I'm off to BINGO... Wouldn't it be awesome if I won again?

 

 

Latest from the McMaths

Jeez Louise the week sure does go fast eh?  Happy May!!  I can't wait until we are in the states.  Less that two weeks!!  I put together Wendy's kennel and she is sleeping in it, she loves it.  Oh and big news, Nathan has moved into his own room!  He has been sleeping in his crib in his bedroom for a full week now!  It feels great to have our room back.  I usually have to get up one or two times in the night to give him his pacifier but it is totally worth it.  I have so many things going through my mind all day; at night it takes forever to wind down and fall asleep, and this week I have been able to read for a little while and fall asleep much faster.  It feels great!  I took apart the bassinet and packed it back in its box!  Wahoo!!

It was completely awesome out this past week.  In the 80s!!  AMAZING weather for Misawa.  This morning we headed out at seven to get to Towada early.  It is about an hour and a half away. (We were planning to go to the cherry blossom festival, but they blossoms are already all gone! So we skipped it)   

We walked along the river and it was beautiful out.  All of the Japanese women loved seeing Nathan.  They went crazy over him!  Dave joked that Nate is a chick magnet... but I don't know how often Dave would be looking to pick up near elderly Japanese women.  HAHAHA.   Nathan snoozed in and out during our 4 hour walk.  

We ate lunch by the river and enjoyed the waterfalls.  I will post photos tomorrow, but I already put a few cute pictures of Nathan in his May album.
