Poor Dave was hurt

This picture sure does make Dave's condition look grim.  He was hurt at work this week as I mentioned in my last blog.  He suffered a minor burn while jumping an intake.  Second degree the confused woman at the ER told him.  He said thank goodness he wasn't really hurt badly as she was a total airhead.  I saw his hand today,  isn't pretty but it isn't as bad as the stuff you see on the show ER . LOL  He is on limited duty this week.  Just filling out forms and other paperwork for the poor injured guy.  HaHa.  He will be fine and he is milking it for everything he can.  No trash duty, no shoveling duty, and  no driving off base.  That's all he has tried so far I'm sure he will come up with new things this week.  LOL.

new housewife here

Today was my last day of work.  I really liked working at the frame shop but I need to see Dave more often.  Today was a prime example of why i am quitting.  Today Dave didn't come home from work.  I woke up and he wasn't home yet.  After freaking out , I called his work to find out that he has to go to the ER and then went back to work and he was just finishing up paper work and would be home in a jiffy. I had to go to work and didn't get to see him before I left.  So I spent all day wondering how badly he was hurt.  So today i am very glad to know this is my last day of being out of touch with what is going on with my husband.

I am glad that i will be able to have time to do everything that doesnt get done during the week.  Hopefully this will free up our weekends so we can start exploring Japan.

SURF

This picture is of our truck .  The good ol Toyota Surf.  It has been broken since last Monday and in the shop since Friday.  We get to pick it up on Wed.  Hopefully it wont cost and arm and a leg.  A brake line was leaking fluid and needed to be replace.  Anyone have any idea how much that could cost?  Well, anyways only three more days of bumming rides and not getting things done.  WE are depending on our one car the Mode  which is our only mode of transportation. (haha) It really stinks because it is really tough to start and only Dave can get it going and sometimes he has a really difficult time.  So, since I cant drive it he has to drive me around everywhere I need to go. WOOF!!!

I finished my scrapbooking cupboard last night.  Now it is all organized and pretty.  Ill take and post a pic sometime this week for anyone who cares.  LOL

This is my last week of working.  I am looking forward to cleaning the house up and keeping on top of the duties I have been to busy to do.  I finally finished the book Icy Sparks.  It was really good.  It took me forever though!

end of a long weekend

I was just adding pictures to an album and thought I would blog a bit too while I'm here.  Dave had a long weekend, four days!!!  I had to work Friday and sat though.  But lucky him.

We went to the 100 yen store this weekend a few time so I could get these cool containers and jars and such, so I could organize my scrap cabinet.  I posted a picture, but please know that the bottom shelf isn't done.  I need to make at least one more trip to the store.  LOL

We hopefully will be able to get out truck fixed this week.  Found out today we need a new brake line.    woof. Hope it wont cost too much.  Dave thinks he can do it himself.

Well, the last load of laundry of the seven i have done this weekend is done and needs to be put away.  I Better hurry so I can hit the hay!

Winter update

Well, this is a picture of Northern Japan.  Everyone keeps asking, do you guys have snow?  The answer is YES  and it sucks.  It usually snows off and on during the day then we get an early evening snow.  During the day around noon it usually warms up enough to have some melting action.  Then at night the wet roads freeze and it becomes nearly impossible to keep from sliding all over the road.  It makes for a white knuckle drive home every night.

Well, I have put my notice in at my job.  I will be working two more weeks then that's it for me.  Dave and I decided that we really need to see each other more. You know since we are married and all.  LOL  So, I am going to stay home and this means lots of good things.  We will see each other during the week, and on the weekends we will have the time to actually go do things.  Right now we work all week and on the weekends we stay home cleaning and doing laundry.  So, now that I will be home the housework will be done laundry caught up on and we can spend sat and sun doing fun things like exploring Japan perhaps.  We have lived here for nearly a year and we haven't seen anything.  The truth is that we only have had just the two days a week to see each other so we usually feel like lounging around catching up on everything.

I am really excited because this means i will have time do do everything,  quilting, scrapbooking, and knitting.   Maybe even take the stained glass and pottery classes I have been wanting to do.  The family support center has cooking classes once a week also.  I went to two of them  when we first got here before I started working.  I really had fun.  I took a German cooking class and we learned how to make Pork Schnitzel(one of our favs now)  And the Japanese cooking class I took we make this egg and chicken dish.  It was good but I haven't attempted it at home yet.  It was kinda complicated.  LOL  I hope to keep myself busy while Dave is at work.  Plus it seems I never have enough time to chat with Melissa online.(every night)  LOL

Well, just wanted to say hello.  Take care everyone!
