Boy all this stuff is fun

Boy all this stuff is fun

OK so having a baby is pretty fun. I know I might change my tune after I go through labor, but for right now it is so AWESOME! First of all it is really cool to know you have this little thing that you and your spouse created inside of you! Like how crazy is that!!! It is going to be a person!! Hello!!!! Does anyone else think that is really amazing?? And this pregnancy thing gets way more exciting once you feel the baby move, then its like, This is real! So then you tell people you are pregnant and they start giving you stuff!! And everything is so CUTE!! While we were home my cousin Erin gave me these two really cute blankets she made of this super soft flannel material. She gave me a pink one with little babushka dolls on it and a blue one with little boats on it. I LOVE them. Eeeee Then we went to my Grandma and Grandpa Hoisignton's house for lunch and to visit and I told them I am pregnant, and my grandma already had a baby gift she made. I am guessing she has one made for all of the grandchildren and she is just waiting for them to have babies now. But the set she knitted is so pretty. There is a blanket, sweater, cap, and booties all this pretty cream color. I thought it was really sweet of her. And yesterday I received the package my mom sent me full of baby stuff she bought at my step-sister's yard sale. She has 2 girls and had tons of clothes. My mom bought a bunch of neutral stuff, I am talking 11 receiving blankets, 15 onesies, 4 sleepers, 3 shirts, a pair of shoes, and even a diaper bag. I can't believe it! All of it looks like it was never worn or if it was then probably just a couple of times!! I think I was probably squealing while I was looking at everything.

We have already ordered our bassinet because it was on back order and we weren't sure how long it would take but it arrived yesterday! I know Dave can't wait to put stuff together but I told him to hold off until I get the baby's room cleaned up. There is still a bunch of stuff in there that I need to put out in the storage room to make room for the crib. It won't be too hard though. I am hoping that I can have the room cleared out this month and next month we can rent a rug doctor and clean the carpet in the baby's room. Its a tricky thing deciding when to buy the crib though. We don't want to buy it too early, but the stock they carry at the BX is never the same. One time you go in and the baby furniture area is nearly empty! Right now though they have several cribs available and there is one that I really like, so we are worried if we wait a few months they won't carry it anymore. It is quite a conundrum. Dave wants to buy it now, but I wish we could hold off a little. Oh well, everything will work out, I am sure.

Well, I need to go peel taters. I am making a roast tonight and it is going to be great, especially since it is cool and rainy outside. Dave is at the Airshow working his squadron's booth, so I am sure he will be excited about a hot meal when he gets home. Have a great Holiday everyone!!!

Entry for August 31, 2007

Entry for August 31, 2007
I am finally back to doing normal stuff. In the past weeks I have been hot and uncomfortable and lazy feeling. I was having trouble sleeping and then couldn't get stuff done during the day because I was so tired.... then I was not in the mood for cooking. It was a vicious cycle. But FINALLY I am back in the swing of things.I have been on top of my cleaning and cooking!! I still have trouble with not wanting chicken dishes... I think its strange. I didn't have morning sickness in my first trimester but I could hardly choke down anything chicken. I used to cook mostly chicken dishes and now I have to force myself to eat it at least one a week. It makes me nervous knowing that I would rather eat pork and beef since chicken is so much healthier. But the idea of eating it makes me want to gag at times. I will like chicken again after I have the baby right??? But I am getting things done and sleeping a little better at night. I have totally reorganized my scrapbooking cabinet which was a huge task, and this past week I even finished two Christmas sewing projects. I feel a lot getting things done I hate feeling lazy.
My pants don't fit. But I only ordered long pants since I am having a winter baby and will be pregnant all fall and winter. So I have to fashion my capris with a hair tie. It works fine except I hardly have any shirts that are long enough to cover my unzipped pants. So today I went to the BX and bought a couple of maternity tops to wear for the rest of the summer. At least they are long enough to covered my pant rigging. I go next Friday for my next ultrasound. We will get to find out if we are having a boy or girl at that appointment. I am excited and hope next week goes by as fast as this week did. I really love feeling the baby move. Its really awesome. I can't wait to feel the baby more often. My mom sent me a package with some clothes she bought at my step-sister's yard sale. I can hardly wait to see what kind of fun baby stuff she got for the baby. Eeeee this baby stuff is really exciting I must say! I am lucky to not suffer from sickness and other bothers that most women complain about. I am just so looking forward to starting our family.
That's all I have to offer as an update for now. OH! Dave starts his online college classes on Monday to finish up his Associates Degree. I think he is excited. Tonight he is going out to drive the SADD Van from 11pm-2am. I am sure he will have an interesting night of driving drunks home.

no sleep

no sleep

Last night I was so happy when I went to bed. I had just got home from bingo... And I actually won! We were getting ready to head to bed and I could hear a cricket in the backyard. I have never heard a cricket in Japan. So, we went to bed and it was pretty warm and muggy and I was trying to fall asleep which is hard for me to do when its warm. After awhile I gave up and went to lay on the sofa. It is much cooler in the living room. I went back to bed once I was cooled down and tired. I layed down and after I was settled what did I hear??? A CRICKET! It sounded so loud and it was coming from under my nightstand!! I couldn't believe it. It was driving me crazy!! I got out my flashlight and was looking around and couldn't find it. then after like 45 minutes it stopped. I thought what a relieve... but then I started getting itchy thinking of that bug in my bedroom, figuring he is probably on his way into our bed and I will wake up with him on me or something disgusting like that! SO, after a few minutes of thinking about that and getting totally creeped out I got the flashlight out and looked again and there he was on the floor!!! 2 feet from my bed!! I knew he had been really close. SO I yelled at Dave to get a shoe and Dave killed him. I heard him go in the bathroom to throw the smashed cricket in the trash and he shut the bathroom door so the light I left on wouldn't bother us in the bedroom. Then like a minute after Dave came back to bed I saw that the door to the bathroom was opened again and I thought I bet Wendy went in there to eat that dead bug... Then I heard Wendy come and lay on her pillow which is on the floor next to the bed on my side. She curled up and I heard her let out a big sign. Then I realized that cricket had been right next to her bed and must have bothered her more than it did me, cause she was sleeping in the living room until the cricket was killed.

So, by the time the cricket was dead and all was quiet and peaceful again I had to get up to pee.... (and I saw that Wendy had just opened up the tissue in the trash to look in it!! She was just making sure it was dead! Isn't she funny?!) So after I used the bathroom I layed back down, and my stomach started growling. Now I don't know why but I am hungry alot. I feel like I have a tape worm... Of course I think it might have to do with the baby. When I get hungry I can't ignore it even if it is the middle of the night. If i let my empty stomach growl more than a few times it gets really painful. SO I got up AGAIN and went to the kitchen.

Now this isn't too far off from most night lately... except of course the cricket added a lot of extra frustration. Most nights I have to get up atleast twice to go to the bathroom... its frustrating because supposedly in the second trimester there should be less peeing. IN the day time there definitely is.. but I hate getting up twice. I guess its probably because it is so warm and I have been drink a lot of water to keep cool. But the getting up to eat because I am starving is confusing too. I know it isn't good to eat at night, but I can't stay hungry or I will feel really crappy. Hopefully once it cools down I will sleep a little more soundly. I have been waking up alot and when I wake up i realize i have to pee. Its a vicious cycle.

Its been HOT

Its been HOT

We have had nothing but unbearable heat for over a week now. It has been in the mid 90s with LOTS of humidity. You can't even just sit and stay cool. I have been sleeping on the sofa this past week cause it was too hot in the bedroom. Sure wish we had A/C in the house. Last weekend we went to the library to escape the heat because there are only a few places onbase that are air conditioned. Even Church isn't air conditioned and last week when we got up t o leave Dave had a wet spot on the back of his pant from sweating. I think I prefer the summers in Phoenix cause everywhere has A/C and even if you are outside and its 115 you aren't sweating because it is so dry.

Thankfully today it has finally started raining. So the temp is like 20 degrees cooler today!! I am so excited. I can do the laundry and clean house and be comfortable today! Wendy isn't in the corner sleeping today either she has been walking around. I have got to say that I am SO glad I am having a winter baby. I see pregnant women around base that look like they are ready to pop and I can't imagine how they can stand the heat. I think the winter baby thing will work out great just as long as there isn't a huge blizzard when I go into labor.

I thought this was funny

I thought this was funny
I was reading the Reader's Digest this morning and I thought this joke was cute. Its from the March 2006 issue....
THE RABBI AND THE PRIEST met at the town's annual picnic. Old friends, they began their usual banter. "This ham is really delicious," the priest teased the rabbi. " You really ought to try it. I know it's against your religion, but you just haven't lived until you've tried Mrs. Hall's prized Virgina Baked Ham. Tell me when are you going to break down and have some?" The rabbi looked at his friend with a big grin, and said, " At your wedding."
I thought that was funny. Last night something else happened that was hilarious. Well to us it was but maybe telling the story won't be as funny to others. Well, last night we were in the living room watching TV and Wendy started barking in the bedroom. She usually only barks if her toy is under a piece of furniture and she can't get it herself. But we went in there and couldn't figure out what she was worked up about so we left and a little while later she started barking and howling and didn't stop so I went in there and she was looking towards my nightstand barking and howling like crazy. I was staring at the table trying to figure out what was bothering her and I realized the tissue box was right near the edge of the table and a tissue was pulled out a ways and was swaying because the fan was hitting it. I thought NO WAY is she freaking out about the tissues. So, I went and picked up the box and she went crazy barking more and ran and hid. I called Dave and told her the tissues had her spooked and he came in and almost peed his pants laughing at her. she would come out of hiding a little ways and I would hold the box out and she would dive back to hide. It was so funny. It was really nice to have some comic relief around here.
Dave is feeling better, now turns out it was a nasty cold he caught at work, but he gave it to me. I am pretty miserable and its hot and I am really congested and crappy feeling. Today I spent most of the day chilling in bed watching movies. Trying to stay cool. Its so hot and muggy.
Well, I am off now, gonna grab a Popsicle and try to stop sweating.

Who doesn't love the sound of a baby's heartbeat?

Who doesn't love the sound of a baby's heartbeat?
I had my Dr. appointment today, and I got to hear the heartbeat again. I go back in 5 weeks for my next ultrasound. At that appointment we can find out the sex. And later if I want I can go to Hachinohe and get one of those 3D ultrasounds for 20 bucks!! Won't that be neat?? I had a different doc this time. He was really nice, I hope I get to see him from now on. I got to ask him a bunch of questions which I had last time but I felt a little rushed and didn't get to ask. Now that I am in my 2nd trimester I feel a huge relief. I made it through the first 12 weeks without any problems and the baby is fine. So now I can start getting really excited and stop being so afraid. My pants are getting a little snug and I think I will order some maternity clothes this week. Eeee
Dave is working on the flight line this week for a few days. Back to 12 hour shifts coming home dirty and grimy, especially since it is so muggy this week and today it is rainy so I am sure he is having a lovely time working wet. He has a bad sinus infection. Last night when he got home he was miserable. I hope he is feeling better soon because there are no sick days in the military. I am sure he will be glad to get back to his desk job, where at least if he feels crappy he isn't doing hard work outdoors in the elements.
