Beef Festival
We had a really nice weekend. Dave took Nathan with him on Saturday to run a few errands. I was home alone!! This NEVER happens. It was fantastic. I started cutting squares for a quilt. This quilt had 1363 squares that needed to be cut, so having almost two hours to get started really helped.
On Sunday we drove to Takko Town which is about an hour and a half drive. They have a Beef and Garlic festival every year, and this was our last chance to go. So we did. We went with three other couples. They had a huge Takko Town Black Cow on a spit and everyone grills their own meat. Of course they cut the steak in tiny little piece. It was very expensive. But it was very good meat. It was raining and everyone had kids so we didn't stay very long. Just long enough to look around and eat. I bought a garlic shaped trivet. Hahaha...
We are still trying to sell our fence. Hopefully we can get it sold soon. I think in a few weeks Dave is going to sell our mower and weedeater. Then sell the shed.
I am going to post a few new pictures in Nathan's album... I added the Beef and Garlic photos already.Enjoy.

Happy Fall
Isn't everyone SO excited that today is the beginning of Fall?? I am a summer gal, but boy I am so excited about the arrival of fall and winter this year. I am posting a fantastic recipe for an amazing soup. Its cheap, tasty and reheats really well. Perfect for those crisp cool fall nights, and even more wonderful on those chilly winter nights. Enjoy the changing leaves, football on the weekends, and the first day you have to wear a sweater... I love the feeling of putting on a cozy sweater for the first time. Don't you?
We put our order in for our new car... We are so excited. Dodge has a really great incentive right now. The best part of going through the Military New Car Sales is that we get the rebates that are offered right now, but if something better comes a long we can switch to whatever is offered between now and the day we pick it up. We got insurance quotes and almost fell off the chair, boy reaching age 25 sure does give you warm fuzzys as far as car insurance goes. Just thinking back to how much we paid when we first were married, I was 18, Dave was 19... we paid a TON!
Nathan is getting really good at standing on his own when holding on to furniture. He falls after a few minutes, be we are always right there. He's a great kid. I posted a bunch of new photos, some are blurry but you can still see how cute and awesome this kid is.
Take care all of you!!

Fun things happening in our little world.
We celebrated Dave's 26th last Monday. I made him a cake, it was yummy. He got a new lunch pail and season 4 of King of Queens from me and Nate. A tee shirt and hats from my folks. Nathan is 7 months old now! We are still waiting for teeth and forward crawling. This little boy is so much fun... His laugh is contagious. He makes about a million funny faces. He is sleeping in later, thank goodness! He is a big flirt when we take him out. I just wish everyone back home could know him better and in person.
I finished my Three Zinnias wall hanging quilt. I am happy with the way it turned out.
This week I plan to start a new quilt... for Halloween. I hope I can get it finished in time.. Its not too large so I might be able to.
We are car shopping. Tomorrow we are putting in our order for an American vehicle with a deposit. Exciting and scary all at once.

Sept 6,2008
Tomorrow is the big air show. The base is expecting 100,000 visitors for Sunday's festivities. We saw people camping out at the gates when we were driving home this afternoon. They have a long wait... but I guess they want to get a good parking spot. It is supposed to rain all day and storms will begin in the afternoon. Nathan still won't crawl forward. Oh well. He will figure it out. He has been talking a lot lately. He goes on and on. I love his little voice. For the past couple of weeks he has been sleeping in later. He used to get up at 5am now its between 6 or 7. Tuesday he slept in until 7:15! Its been great.
I started a quilting project this past week. I am almost finished quilting it, then I just have to finish it up. Its a small wall hanging... I really like it.
