True Love

He must watch everyone else use the recliner, he had to try it out...not a bad perch

Nathan is such a good bird owner. He alerts me when Jukibird is talking, when he needs to be covered up for bed, and then when he needs to be uncovered to be woken up. He likes to watch me feed him, and clean the cage. If he thinks Anna is looking mischievous he reminds her NO EAT JUKIBIRD.
And he loves Jukibird. LOVES him!

Nate turns 3 Video

Lookie what I finally made. Amazingly it took me 3 days less time to make this one on our new computer. Thank the Lord!

dying eggs

one egg was all cracked, so we ate it :)

When we told Nathan that the Easter Bunny will be sneaking in our house tonight to hide the eggs and leave us candy, he looked horrified and said, "NO!"  It was priceless really.

We hope you have a hoppy Easter.  We will surely share photos tomorrow of our baskets and Nate hunting for eggs.

Look at the Landing

I added this linked photo on the right to help you find all of our unpacking posts :) Just in case you want the full tour. LOL

looking from the living room area down to the front of our house. The door on the left is the garage. The open door on the right leads to the entry and front door

Probably nobody would give a hoot, but I still thought I would share. The front of our house as NO windows! ZERO. NADA. It is really weird. especially cause that means no snooping on whats happening on our street. Of course our street is pretty much empty, so there is probably no snooping to be done. I'll never know.

Our front door.

Now that its nice out sometimes, I can open the front door and have some air and light coming in. And I can occasionally snoop.

This room is just where we keep shoes, even though we never come in the front door. That door to the right is our furnace and hot water heater. When its -40 out this little room is FREEZING. Thank goodness there is a door to close this area off.

Katie see how green the grass is??
This is a peek out into our street.

Nate wanted to cheese it up for me.

Bathroom Update

looking from our bedroom.

Here is our bathroom. We decided to spring for new towels and a new shower curtain. Its nice to freshen things up. Most of our previous bathroom decor was 7 years old. It was time.

our new shower curtain.
What a huge change a new shower curtain can make!

I'm happy. It feels MUCH less 1990s Super 8 motel-ish.

43

Here is me and 43

If only I could contain myself I would wait and use this for the moment of the week. I'm too excited though, so you'll probably get a photo of Nate picking his nose or something on Friday.  But this past week they installed President Bush downtown.  That is 43, I've already had my photo with 41.  But I saw on the evening news he was put in and I auto added a visit to our weekend to do list.

And here I am telling Nate to get out of MY picture.

And here is a close up

And this one is my fav
If I could rationalize it, this would be the photo mailed out with our Christmas cards this year.
The highlight of my WEEK!

time together

Dave's new bird. Its a bit larger than the F-16.

It sounds corny, but we finally spent some time together today.  Dave had the day off and the weather was awesome.  We went to the air and space museum right outside the gate.  We drive by the planes every time we leave the base, and Nate always yells and points the planes out!

You get to peek into things when your daddy is tall

B-1 its ginormous

landing gear...its hugenormous

its big..i think you get it
It was a really nice day.  Really nice!

confession

During the week I cook, clean, and keep up with great enthusiasm.  I look forward to the weekends with Dave to recharge, and relax, and have fun.  But when the weekend includes Dave working 12+ hours each day..... things go downhill.  Yesterday  I at least prepared a proper dinner, and dressed the kid.  Today.... I made pancakes for dinner.

organic pancakes with organic blueberry fruit spread, and real maple syrup.

Nate wandered around in Thomas the train undies and his pj shirt.

Anna sleeps

And we lounge all day watching movies and cuddling on the sofa.  It was raining all weekend, reminiscent of 2 weekends ago when it was snowing all weekend while Dave was working.  I'm looking forward to a fresh week, forgetting the blahs of this weekend.  God willing and the creek don't rise Dave will get next weekend off.
