Reuse

You may or may not be aware that I am a recovering book hoarder.  I don't think we owed half a dozen books before we moved to Misawa, but the library left a lot to be desired so I ended up buying books.  I was usually good about finding used copies on Amazon, paying a penny or ten for the book then shelling out the few bucks for shipping.  That's not bad at all!! But I ended up with a lot of books!  Somehow or another I found a swapping site that I tried, and it worked out great!

Books I got
Mostly I just swapped those books I had purchased from amazon.  Then once I mailed them out I could pick out books for free.  I started mid 2007 and I still love cruising for something.  I just showed my friend and she became addicted, so I thought I would publicly recommend paperbackswap to anyone that reads this.
Books I mailed
Give it a try if you are like me and have a stack of books laying around.

Its free to join.  You front the $2.43 to send out your books (media mail) and then once the book is received you get a credit to go pick!
(and if you join, friend me(craftyTESSA), then I can snoop and see what kind of smut you've been reading)

Camping

The Shinanigans Start now.  We all moved into the trailers this week which is a big mess as you can tell.  Everyones stuff is scattered around, and you cant really tell when your space starts or ends.  It's especially nice when everyone is on a different schedule and comming and going at all times through out the day.  And then you have those of us that love to goof off and race RC cars up and down the corridor keeping others awake.  Oh well, it's only for a short amount of time, I'll just do with no sleep till i get home.  The bright side, this is one more step closer to coming home!

Here is my little corner, Thanx again Teresa for the quilt, it's come quite handy in keeping me warm and locked into the small bed, I'm deathly afraid of falling off the top one night.

See You soon!

Window Crayons on a cold day
I'm pretty sure they are just glorified lipstick.  But it made for a fun afternoon.

Its not like the show

I have filled my evenings alone by watching the 81 episodes of Army Wives that you can stream through Netflix.  I have to say that my life is nothing like theirs.  None of my friends own a bar, or have a general for a husband(hello fraternization rules!!)  But in 2011 all of us dealt with our husbands being deployed.  Right now three out of the four of us still have husbands deployed.  And I can say that  this time would have been horrible without them.  They have watched Nate when I had doctors appointments, watched my house while I was away, brought me flowers when I needed cheering up, and really have been super supportive.

And thoughtful

Bri and Kristen made us this for our tenth anniversary!

I'm so glad I went to playgroup last spring.  I met some awesome ladies.

"B-9"
B-I-N-G-O

Recently, I have been going on my day off and playing bingo with some of the fellas that also have the day off with me.  Well, after 4 weeks of going and at least 15 or 20 games of Bingo, I WON.
This is especially amazing since the Bingo caller is usually a middleeastern man with a really thick accent.  So it is very difficult to understand him, plus he goes very fast.  Every Time I play my heart races because I am trying to stay caught up, and as Teresa will tell you, I am not the fastest person in the world when it comes to games.  But long and behold I won, and it was on the hardest card to play, a coverall.

My winnings, a 25 dollar gift card to the BX.  May not seem like much, but when you factor in that we don't have to pay to play, it's pretty cool.

Well, 2 more post left and I'm outa here.  this week we are suppose to be moving out of our rooms and into trailers or tents, no one really knows which yet.  But either way, it will be 30 to 40 dudes living in a room together, we like to think of it as camping.  I'll let you know how it turns out next week if we move that soon.

Puppy Prep

Yesterday we ventured into the hills to look and possibly pick out a puppy.  If you visited recently and we made the trip to Deadwood, and drove up those crazy streets up to the cemetery..... that was just like the drive to go look at the puppies.  Except the streets were snow covered.  Luckily I didn't soil myself while I slid backwards back down the hill since I had my friend Bri with me, and she was laughing hysterically, which took a little of the,"we're gonna die" essence out of this situation.
But after we slid a ways back down the street, we parked and hoofed it up the hill to see the puppies.  While we were mountain climbing towards the house the puppy daddy came running out, he was so friendly and pretty.  Just the right size and super handsome.  The puppies were adorable. We picked out a brown and white female.
This is a bad photo of her coloring on her back.  Isnt she pretty?

Bonnie giving a rear high five
Dave picked the name, Bonnie.  And then he google the heck out of English Springer Spaniels and got super excited that she will be a great bird dog....except we have a pet bird, so we are going to have to see how that goes.  Bonnie is five weeks old, so she will stay with her momma for a couple more weeks.
We are getting ready....

Surprised Sighting

The "Pride of Detroit"
I was sitting in my truck a couple of nights ago and noticed that a Michigan Tanker rolled past me.  So later that day I drove around the flightline to see where it went and found it on the other side of the airfeild.  This one just happens to be called the "Pride of Detroit".  Seemed fitting as we all know this past weekend secured the Lions first playoff Birth since 1999, Did you know that was also the same year Berry Sanders retired.  Such a long time ago.

Only a few weeks left, It's nice to say that I'll be home this month.  I miss my family like crazy and can't wait to get back to them.  I love you all, Teresa, Nate and Anna, Oh yeah, can't forget about Juki Bird.
