Nate loves dinner! He puts his hands together for grace, eats his dinner, drinks his milk then waits for mama and dada to announce its time to put on shoes for a bike ride. Then he runs around finding everyone's shoes, telling us to put them on! Its time!
He loves the ride! Pointing out trucks, cars, dogs, trains, and letting me know when we hit a bump. Sometimes deer run out in front of us, sometimes there are loose dogs running around, sometimes we can see a storm rolling in and mama rides super fast so we won't get hit by lightening.
The ride is great! But what this little man wants, what he waits ALL day for, comes after the ride. As soon as his alien helmet comes off he is running to the house for "Pop-Pop" or as full English speaking folks say, POPSICLES!! He can hardly wait to get his pop-pop.
He takes a slurp and exclaims"yummmmm"!!! These things are the best part of summer man! (Don't worry Grandma S, they are made from organic strawberry lemonade)
We take the pop-pops outside and slurp and nibble and when they are gone... Dada and Nate kick the ball around, or hit the ball around, or throw the ball around. Whichever strikes their fancy. But it almost always involves a ball.
Sometimes there are tears when it gets so dark we must come in. I won't name names.
What could be better than these lazy summer evenings?
