THANKSGIVING!!

Our meal turned out great!  I got my bird in at 930 this morning and the morning went really smooth.  Dave's friend Carter got here about 15 minutes before 2 so it worked out great.  Everything was yummy.  The Pumpkin Pie was SO good.  It seems like forever since I have had Pumpkin Pie.  No thinking back I haven't had Pumpkin Pie since the last Thanksgiving we spent in Phoenix.  That is a LONG time to go without Pumpkin Pie.  I have missed it.  It was so good.  Dave kept saying all day that it feels like Christmas, which is true.  We got SO much snow last night and it was snowing really hard all day. I don't remember ever having a white Thanksgiving.

That busy bone I got Wendy so she wouldn't beg at the table worked like a dream.  She couldn't get much off of it and pushed it all around the house gnawing on it.  She kept getting frustrated and sort of barking at it.  It was funny.  But dang she didn't even notice we were eating.  She was working so hard at that bone she was actually panting like she had just been out running.  LOL  I guess that's what happens when a chubby dog has to work hard for her food.  After we had eaten and I had finished dishes she worked it into the dining room.  She was panting so hard she went to drink ALL of the water in her bowl and while she was drinking I picked the bone up and put it up because I thought she needed a break from it.  Well she went looking all through the house for it.  Then Dave gave it back to her and instead of chewing on it she was desperate to find a place to hide it.  She wanted to take it outside.  But she would loose it in the snow.  SO she finally took it under the computer desk and she wont take her eyes off of it.  She was laying a few feet away from it when Carter got up to leave and she got up and went to stand next to the bone so we couldn't take it.  I feel bad that I picked it up and now she is desperate not to loose it again.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving

I am really looking forward to tomorrow.  I cannot believe it is already Thanksgiving!  Before I know it Christmas will be here then February!  We are having a guy that Dave works with over tomorrow for dinner. He is here unaccompanied.  I found a pretty small turkey, 11 pounds.  Tonight Dave made the pumpkin pie while I made the sweet potato casserole and cranberry dish.  The house is clean, I have the table set and the serving pieces out.  Everything is clean, pressed and ready to go.  Just have to push the vacuum, peel the potatoes, make the stuffing and get everything cookin tomorrow.  Should be pretty relaxed.
Dave wants to wake up early and get to the BX by 6am on Friday(the BX opens at 7 but he wants to be there really early).  They are having some pretty amazing sales and the first 100 people in the store get a $20 gift card.  I think we might go Friday or Saturday to get that 4d scan.  It will be fun to scan the photos from the 4D scan and order a few thru walmart or meijer so Jackie can pick them up and have a few printed out for the shower.    I hope the baby will cooperate so we can get a good look at him.  I can't wait.

The stuffing is all gone!

So it is Sunday already!  I can't believe the weekend is already over. Our Thanksgiving went really well.  Everything turned out perfect and we really enjoyed sharing Thanksgviving with the couple that came over.  She brought a cake for dessert and it was really good.  For some reason this year the Sweet Potato Casserole was so good.  Last year I didn't really care for it, but this year I tasted it and it knocked my socks off!   Dave and I have been eating leftovers all weekend and still aren't sick of them yet.  I did make Turkey Soup last night though so that mixed things up a little.  Last night after dinner we went to see a movie.  Deja vu with Denzel Washington.  Boy, was that a good movie.  It was almost too much suspense for my tastes but I made it through OK.

Other than that not much has been happening here.  We went to the big sales all this weekend.  The BX has had some cool stuff on sale every day. Plus they give you a coupon for the next day so you gotta go back and use it.  Hehe.   Dave was really excited about his 20% off coupon yesterday and when we went to the store he wouldn't let me shop near him.  I am guessing it has something to do with our 5 year anniversary next month since he was heading in the direction of the jewelry counter.   When we haven't been shopping we have been watching the Sopranos.  Dave's friend lent us the first three seasons on DVD and we are hooked!  We love the show already.

Dave and I decorated our backyard a little while ago.  We put lights along the fence and I put up a few bows on a couple of the fence posts.  It looks really cute.  We even had enough to decorate Wendy's dog house.  I cannot wait until tonight to see them all lit up!! Eeeeee I am so excited about Christmas!! Aren't you??
