Parade

So today we went off base where they were having a festival.  They had a costume parade that lasted a couple hours.  There were a lot of really cute costumes, and there were a lot of really strange costumes.  It was fun though.  Check out the album.  Beware I did take a pic of the sumo guys from the rear so don't be shocked.(That might be rude? I am not sure but everyone was looking so I thought it should be okay for me to snap a picture right?)

Books

Dave arrived home the other day.  He is really glad to be home.  He is really tired and is looking forward to time off next month.  I am so glad he is finally back.  I was running out of stuff to keep me busy.  I put together 4 scrapbooks, made three Christmas presents, did a lot of online shopping and did two puzzles.  Ha!!!  I have put the four scrapbooks in my photos.  If your not into scrapbooking they will probably be boring to look at.  Sorry.

Everyone back home sure has been quiet lately.  Guess summer is keeping everyone busy.  I have been reading a lot since most of the summer has been rainy.   I have read a bunch of really great books.  If you are looking for a good read here is a short list of some I would recommend- Mine are Spectacular, Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons, Patty Janes House of Curl, Crazy Ladies, One Thousand White Women, One for the Money, Gap Creek, A Girl Named  Zippy, Icy Sparks, Lucky, Lovely Bones,  Cheat and Charmer.

I am going to start The Freedom Writers Diary next week.   I will let you know what I think when I am finished.

THE CRICUT HAS ARRIVED!!!!

Well, today was a very special day since my CRICUT arrived!!! I had been watching JoAnn.com waiting for it to be in stock and it finally was, and I finally got mine in the mail today!!!!  If you are a serious scrapbooker you have got to get this machine.  It is so amazing.  I got home from the post office at 3 this afternoon and I started playing with it and lost five hours!!!  Dave called at 830pm.  I lost all track of time I was having so much fun!!!  It really works great and I love it already.

Well, since my scrapping machine is the highlight of my summer I will fill you in a little on what Dave is up to.  His TDY is finally coming to an end.  He leaves Alaska on Sunday( in Alaska, which is Monday here) and will arrive home on Tuesday.  I couldn't be more excited.  After talking to him today it sounds like he is really ready to get home.  They worked a lot from the sounds of it, and this trip to Alaska didnt produce much time for him to fish.  He is a bit disappointed.  He didn't catch any Salmon.  Hopefully he will have a little more luck at *Salmon Camp*.

Well, nothing more to report... tata for now.

Entry for July 25, 2006

Well, this is what I did all weekend.  LOL I started it on Friday night and got it finished on Sunday!  I love puzzles and luckily I got three new puzzles before Dave left.  LOL

Dave went fishing this weekend he said  nobody had much luck.  Oh well, I am sure he is loving just being in the river with his fishing pole!

whats new with us.....

So, it has been awhile!

Dave left for Alaska on the 15th.  His tickets were pretty dumb and it took him 32 hours to get to Alaska! Talk about out of the way.  He flew from Tokyo to LA to San Fran to Seattle to Alaska!!!!!! He has called a few times he said he is a little disappointed that he has been there for nearly a week and hadn't been able to go fishing yet.  I think he was going to go today though.  He is working swings over there and all of his fishing buddies are working days, so he doesn't have anyone to fish with.  This weekend though I think they will get plenty of fishing  in.  We have no clue when he will get back. He flew commercial but doesn't have return tickets!!  Hopefully this TDY is no more than three weeks.

I decided to get started scrapbooking the day he left.  I hadn't scraped anything past our wedding.  I got started on Saturday after he left and finished on Tuesday!!!  I was able to get 2002 , 2003 , and 2004 completely done! I also got 12 pages for 2005 done!  It was really easy since I had all of my pictures sorted and ready.  Plus, I got a bunch of really cool stuff from Close To My Heart.  I also did a 30 page 9x9 book for my Chicago trip!!!  Isn't that crazy!!  The '02  and '03 pages are going to go in the same book which will be 40 pages.  And 2004 ended up 40 pages.  I guess I was really motivated!  I would have liked to finish all of 2005 but I am completely out of adhesive, but I ordered some more stuff and hopefully it will get here soon.

I have been knitting since I finished scrapbooking.  Hopefully I can get a few Christmas gifts done.

Well, I think that's it for now.

Entry for July 06, 2006

Today is my birthday.  It wasn't too great. I was terribly homesick and Dave had to work all day so I was home alone.  He did make me french toast though yum yum.  I ordered Pizza Hut for dinner.  That was probably the highlight of the day.  I watched Kevin Bacon's true Hollywood Story as I ate pizza.  It was a Hawaiian pizza.  It was good.

How many more days do I have  left in Japan???????

Happy Fourth of JULY!!!

We just ate lunch.  We had Chicago style hot dogs, homemade beans, and watermelon.  The weather is sort of crappy today. Not raining finally!  But it is chilly.  We are going to figure out what we are gonna do now.  Just wanted to post pics of lunch.  For dinner we will have BBQ London broil, a salad, and roasted new potatoes.  Yum Yum.

We hope you all have a great and safe fourth!!!!  Be safe NO drinking and driving!!!
