We had a nice weekend.  The weather was pretty great.  We took the dog and baby for long walks after breakfast and after dinner.  I have been taking the dog and baby for long walks in the mornings and Dave and I go again after supper every night(we bring Nate and Wendy).  Its just nice to get out of the house since the weather is so wonderful; tulips and daffodils are out and most of the cherry blossoms too, we have a great time.

Dave was able to get the yard mowed, it really needed to be cut.  I think this week I am going to try to clear out my flower beds.  The spring fling is on May 10th, so I need to have the beds cleared so I can plant right away.  In the past I didn't get around to planting the flowers for a few weeks, mostly because it was always rainy.  But we leave days after the spring fling so I'll have no time to put it off.

We put Nate in a pair of Dave's pj's.  They fit him pretty well right now.   I am adding a few photos. Nate in the pj's and a pic of Dave and his Grandpa Victor.(Dave is wearing the same pj's.)

Hey so yesterday was Earth Day!  If your like me every earth day you feel a  bunch of  guilt because the earth is so pretty and all of our buildings and parking lots and landfills are trashing this place!  Booo.... Did you decide to make any changes?  Maybe switching to those funny looking light bulbs, or investing in some of those awesome reusable grocery bags???  Hey, every box or can or bottle I recycle I feel a little better, like I am doing my part.  Oprah did a great Earth Day show.  They talked about compost bins.  I was just looking up compost bins last week!  I think it would be great to have a compost bin, just think atleast that much of your waste would be in your backyard turning itself into awesome soil, instead of adding to a heap of trash at the landfill.  I didn't know you could use shredded paper in a compost bin, (duh!), that's great.  I am always sort of worried someone might put my shreds back together and steal my info.(I'm not a paranoid, but I saw on an episode of Law and Order once, a crime gang hired homeless to put shredded paper back together!  Can you believe that?) Anyhow, what I am saying is I would rather turn my shredded bills into soil rather than the Law and Order thing.  Anyhow, this is the link to that site I found compost bins on...

I already use canvas bags for my groceries.  There are so many benefits.....

1.  No more bags ripping and eggs breaking and that whole mess you sometimes get with paper or plastic.

2.  They hold a ton, and they have really great handles that make them super easy to carry, even when they are loaded.

3. I don't have those damn plastic bags all over my house.  For a while I thought the bags would take over the flippin' kitchen, what a pain.

4. Plastic bags take like forever to breakdown, so I feel no guilt for adding any plastic bags to the landfill.

5.  The bags I bought were made by blind people somewhere, that's what the tag said, so double bonus, American jobs for the disabled!!

So basically I'm not adding to the paper and plastic problem plus I love the bags because they are so easy to lug around.

Here is a site to get great bags.. or their bags are available at ACE Hardware, they are really reasonably priced!

So, what do you do to do your part?  Or atleast pitch in a little?

Our Chubby Baby

We took Nate to this two month check up today.  He was 22 inches long and weighed 11 pounds!!! He is getting so big!  He did really well with his first vaccines.  He cried a little it then he was fine and happy again.  Every time Dave picks up Nathan in the car seat to lug him around he always complains about how heavy Nate is getting.  Guess he is getting wimpy sitting behind that desk all day long!  Hehe.

Dave's co-worker Tony had his baby yesterday.  Well, actually his wife had their baby via c-section.  He weighed 9 lbs 3 oz.   I was shocked... Nathan weight 9 pounds at 6 weeks old!  We stopped by L&D to visit them after Nathan's appointment.  We took them a pack of size one diapers!   I think we will take them a casserole on Sunday, since they should be released on Saturday.  It didn't sound like they had meals frozen or anything, and they will be super busy with the new baby and their 16 month old.  Yikes!

Its been foggy lately and it has been making us feel groggy.  I miss sunshine!  Tomorrow the dog goes for her vaccines!  Jeesh

updated (4/5) calendar

I posted Nathan's  8 week photo in a new album called April Nathan Photos.  I think he is getting big.  We go to his 2 month checkup on Thursday next week.  I can't wait to find out how much he weighed.  I put Nathan in the cute little hooded shirt I got from the Tietzs the other day when we took him to the Ortho doctor.  Everyone in the office went crazy over how cute he looked.  It was so funny.  He looked really spiffy in it.

This is the trip calendar as of 4/5.  It seems to be working well again.
