Ultrasound results!!

Okay so today we woke up really early. I woke up at quarter to 7 this morning. I had to drink 40 oz. of water before 8 o'clock. I wasn't sure I would be able to do it but it wasn't so terrible. I drank 3 glasses of OJ and then had 2 of water. I woke up thirsty so that helped. By the time we got to the hospital at a quarter to 9 my bladder sure was full. I wasn't sure how long I was going be able to hold it. Once we got back and he started the ultrasound he saw my bladder was full, and I asked 'what do women lie to you about it? 'and he said they do!! I don't know why they would do that. The instructions say that if your bladder isn't full they will make you reschedule. Anyhow he looked for a minute then let me go pee. I was so grateful. Then he did the rest of the ultrasound. The baby was really moving around and he kept saying 'man your kid is wild'. He got his look at the heart, stomach, bladder, kidneys, spine and all that. Then he got a good look at the boy parts!! I told him I am so glad he got to see it clearly because I have thought it was a boy for so long that I don't know if I would have believed him if he tried to tell me it is a girl. I knew Dave would be so happy. He grabbed my leg and squeezed it when the guy pointed out the penis. I know Dave wanted a boy so badly. SO WE ARE HAVING A BOY!!!! We are so excited but mostly we are glad the baby is healthy. The baby is 1 lb. 4 oz. Isn't that amazing?! Afterward we were looking at the photo the guy gave us and Dave said look that's really inside of you! Its awesome.

Bought a crib

So, Dave and I had a bunch of errands to take care of this morning. We got an early start today which isn't common for us on Saturdays. Usually we bum around in the morning. This morning though I was up by 8 and the baby was kicking. Dave finally got to feel the baby kick. I am so glad. He got to feel a few kicks actually. YAY!! I made french toast and everything I was so awake this morning. So anyways. After we got most of the stuff done in town that we had on our list we stopped at the furniture store to see if they had any new cribs in. And they did!! I think Dave and I both saw it and knew it was the one we wanted. It is so nice. The right color wood and with the one hand release that I was hoping to find. Eeee I am really happy. I had a feeling I would know the crib I wanted when I saw it. I am glad we didn't have to settle for what they have had in stock for the past couple months. It is going to be delivered on Tuesday afternoon. What a day that will be! We go for my ultrasound in the morning then the crib will be delivered soon afterwards!

The crib is nice. One of those 4 in 1 cribs. I think it will look really handsome as a headboard one day. Its made by Bassett.

Tomorrow is the beginning of October??

I cannot believe how fast the days go by. It seems like I blink and it's a Friday again. Every Thursday night at dinner I comment to Dave that I just can't believe another week is ending. And tomorrow is the beginning of October. CRAZY!! I need to get our Christmas shopping for our family in the states finished soon. I hate leaving it until the last minute. Since last minute is in November for SAM packages that means I want to have mine done by the end of Oct. for sure.

I have a OB appointment this Friday(Oct 5). I am supposed to see the new Dr. I need to write down a few questions to remember to ask him. Last time at the end of my appointment the Doc asked me is I had any ?'s and I couldn't think of any until I got to the car, then I remembered the bunch of things I was wondering about. So I think I might take a list this time. I have been having a daily dizzy spell for the past week. Just for a moment once a day things just start spinning. It doesn't last even a minute but boy I have to sit down for a bit to get myself together. So I want to ask about that. I have read that dizzy spells are normal in pregnancy though so I am not freaking out.

I have the spare room almost totally dejunked so I hope that next weekend we can rent a rug doctor. Once the carpet has been cleaned I think we might go ahead and buy the crib.

Feeling the baby move isn't a little flutter anymore. One night it felt like someone was flicking my bellybutton from the inside. I told Dave it was a really weird feeling and he put his hand over my bellybutton and the baby did it more and harder. It was neat.

Life's Greatest Miracle

Dave and I watched NOVA's Life's Greatest Miracle tonight. We stopped at the library this afternoon and picked up a few PBS programs. We sort of felt like dorks but they have loads of PBS and NOVA programs on DVD and VHS and most of them look really interesting to us. Right now there isn't much on TV to watch. The new seasons that are beginning in the states won't begin here until after the holidays. We thought we will borrow a couple a week to keep us from going batty with the crap on TV right now. We got the first part of The West and the Life's Greatest Miracle. So tonight since nothing was on we watched the baby DVD. It was amazing!! It really is tricky to get everything right to conceive!! It is amazing it happens at all! I never knew how complicated it is to get the little sperm up to the egg. They showed the birth and it was a little nerve racking for me. But I didn't get woozy like I used to. During my first trimester every time some woman in a movie went into labor I saw spots and felt like I was under a heat lamp I would get all hot and sweaty. But heck, watching how much goes into fertilizing an egg the birth is a piece of cake!!

This week is my 20th week!! I am half way!! I can't wait until Dave gets to feel the baby kick, I can tell he is getting anxious about it. When the baby moves I still sometimes jump and 'OH' at the feeling. I can tell he is getting jealous a bit. Tonight when i 'oohed' he told me to keep my hand on my belly to make sure it can't be felt on the outside yet. He was worried he is missing out. I think he is going to be an awesome daddy.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Dave's Birthday

Dave's 25th birthday was on Saturday. He opened my gift on Thursday, I got him season 4 of Sopranos and a backpack for the laptop.( There was nothing on TV and we were bored so I let him open it early so we could watch an episode of Sopranos) My family sent him a big box of gifts. He is always eager to see what my mom picks out for him at Christmas and his birthday because she picks out the best gifts for him. Dave opened the gifts from my family Saturday morning after breakfast. My mom and Jim gave him a Gander Mountain tee shirt, hat and mug. He loved them. The hat has two itsy bitsy LED lights in the brim and they are super bright. He can't wait to stay out late fishing on the pond with the hat. LOL They also gave him 2 bags of candy, a little camo onesie( it's really for the baby).. gosh I can't think of what else. There were so many things in the box. My sister sent him desk calendars one for work and one for home, and Tigers Monopoly. He definitely felt spoiled. I made him a cake Butter Yellow with vanilla frosting and we had cake after dinner

We spent the afternoon at his new first shirt's house. He was having a BBQ for everyone in the office since he is all moved in to his house off base. The house was pretty big for one person. I could stand living in an off base house, but I could not stand the parking situation at those places. In the winter I would have panic attacks I swear its insane. I met one guy Dave works with that I hadn't met yet. He has a one year old boy and his wife is pregnant. She is Russian and really nice, its fun to hear her talk. I like her accent. But she speaks to her son in Russian and man every word of that language sounds harsh. She could have been talking about puppies and kittens and kisses and it would still sound like a tongue lashing. She is really nice though. So in Dave's small office there are three wives pregnant!! I am the furthest along!! Thank goodness. It was scary for awhile, I know lots of pregnant women and all of them were due before me! I don't want to be the last. Time goes fast but everyday I think I will never last until February I am so anxious already! But finally I know of 5 women behind me!! Wahooo!

My belly button feels funny. My Dr. told me to expect the baby to be above my belly button soon. I had the same Dr. as last time. I was so glad, I like him alot. Dave got to meet him and he agreed that he is really great compared to the Doctor that gave me my first ultrasound. I found out that he is leaving soon though. BOO. But one of the women at the party told me that I will like the new Dr. that has come in. So I am wondering if I can request him. When he was listening to the baby's heartbeat there were these thud sounds and he said it was the baby bumping into my uterus! It was so strange to think that was happening right then. I feel the baby move a lot when I am in the recliner with the footrest up. Or at night when I lay down to go to sleep he starts moving a lot. I had to go to my appointment way early because that Typhoon came through and they were worried they would have to shut the Hospital down in the afternoon. SO instead of 1pm they called me at 8 and told me to be there at 850. After seeing the doctor we had to refill my prenatal vitamins which took a while. Then I went to the lab to have that screening done for down syndrome and spina bifida. I am fine with having blood drawn but there was a little toddler in the chair next to me and she was screaming bloody murder. Her mom was holding her but she was still screaming and fidgeting. Man that screaming and watching them put the needle in her little arm had me seeing spots. It made me anxious and I kind of felt like crying. Boy, Dave will have to deal with that stuff cause I couldn't watch a stranger's kid go through that!! Whew. I dream alot about the baby. I know alot of pregnant women have dreams. Most of the time its about breastfeeding so I must be anxious and worried about getting to breastfeed eh? Some dreams I just have the baby though. Its weird!!

Little House Books

I finally finished reading the Little House series! I started it in January and it took me 9 months to get through the 9 books! I really enjoyed them and I am glad I read them. I tried reading them when I was younger but couldn't get into them. It feels good to finish a series. I have been reading a bunch of series. The Little House books, Love Comes Softly books, Stephanie Plum books, and the Princess Diaries books. I am eager to get the Love Comes Softly books read this winter. I have read all of the Princess Diary books that the library carry. I am caught up on the Stephanie Plum books. I have decided not to buy any new books for the rest of our time here. I still have plenty of books to read and I am sure I won't be able to read as much once the baby arrives. The bookshelf is full right now and I am determined to clear it out by the time we move. I can do it.

We have a typhoon coming towards us soon. It is going to hit Tokyo tomorrow and we are supposed to be ready for high winds. I am guessing this weekend will be rainy and crappy. Oh well. I am planning to roast a chicken on Sunday and that always make the house feel cozy no matter what the weather outside is like. Dave's Birthday is Saturday so I will bake him a cake and he has gift to open from my mom and from me so we should have a nice weekend.
