End of the week

So its Friday.  Yippie!!  Dave had a light week.  It was nice to have him home a little more than usual.  I spent the week catching up on stuff around the house.  Everything feels like it is getting back to normal.

We got a new sofa and a La Z Boy today.  We are so excited.  Our couch and loveseat that we had for only a year and a half were pretty nasty due to Wendy.  If you read about our Christmas than you understand the problems we used to have with Wendy.  Luckily she doesn't have accidents anymore.  But the damage to the couches was already done.  So today starts a new rule.  NO DOG ON THE COUCH!!  Dave was so upset that we needed to replace the couches, but he is the softy that doesn't enforce the rules!!  He was always complaining that he didn't like Wendy on the bed with us but he would never stay consistent with keeping her off!!  I had to train her to stay off while he was in Alaska.   The sofa and recliner were delivered this morning.  We might need to go get a second recliner because we fight over who gets it.  I am posting a picture of Dave trying it out this afternoon when he got home.  His behind hasn't left the seat for the past three hours!

Well, hope you all have a great weekend.  We got nothing planned, but I feel like there is something going on, I just can't remember.  You know how that is. Take care!!

September Books

Well, September is nearly over and I just finished my third book.  I wasn't able to read all the books I had planned on reading but I think that's okay.  I tried to start DEVIL IN THE WHITE CITY but I just couldn't get into it.  So I gave up and decided to try again in a little while.   So these are the books that I did read this month and what I thought of them:

TWO FOR THE DOUGH by Janet Evanovich-  This the second book in the Stephanie Plum series and was just as great as the first.  It was funny, adventurous, and makes you wonder if you could take up bounty hunting.  Which I always answer myself a very sarcastic 'Ya right!!'  These Stephanie Plum books are a great read and will have you  busting at the seams with laughter.  Next month I hope to read #3.

SHE GOT UP OFF THE COUCH by Haven Kimmel-  This was a follow up to A GIRL NAMED ZIPPY.  I LOVED LOVED LOVED A Girl Named Zippy, so I was really excited to read this second book.  I was not let down either.  It was so great.  Funny beyond words.  You MUST read these two Haven Kimmel books!!

THE CLOTHES THEY STOOD UP IN  and   THE LADY IN THE VAN by Alan Bennett-  This book has two totally different stories.  One about a couple that is accidently 'burgled' and the other about a elderly woman living in a van, narrated by the man that lets her part the van in his driveway.  Both stories take place in London and have the English Humor going on.  Sometimes I didnt follow, but mostly both stories were really great.  This book  is short and only took me about 3  1/2 hours to read.  Pick this book up for a little bit of fun just rememeber they talk sort of funny.  LOL

Well, that's all I got for right now.  Tomorrow I am going to start WIDOW OF THE SOUTH by Robert Hicks.  I'll let you know how it goes!  Tata for now all!!  Take care

Feeling Better

Well, I am still alive.  It has been four days since I had my Wisdom Teeth removed and everything is going great so far.  No complaints... well, just that I'm hungry.  Dave had last Thursday and Friday off so he could take care of me.  I think he was sorta bored but he did a good job.  I haven't had a lot of pain and hardly any swelling.  I am so relieved that it is done and over with.  Now just have to be sure not to get dry sockets.

SO not much else to write about since we've just been bumming around the house for the past four days.  I felt well enough to do some scrapbooking today.  Got 4 more Family Fun Fact Book pages done this afternoon.  I am really excited about getting the last 6 responses.   Hopefully soon.

I decided to start watching The Amazing Race.  I have never watched it before but since there isn't a lot on right now thought I would get into it this time.  Man, that show is crazy to watch.  I could never do that sort of thing.  Every second I am watching them do that crazy stuff  I am so thankful that my behind is on the sofa WATCHING.  Dave told me he thinks he and I would be good at that sort of thing.  I however think it would send us to marital counseling.  So I was wondering....  Do you watch The Amazing Race?  Would you like go on an adventure like that?  How do you think you and your spouse would do??

Just some random stuff

Well,  the weekend is already over!   I have been working on my Family Fun Facts Book.  It is going really well!    Here is how the book is coming :

*   I have 18 of 38 pages totally finished  *

*  On my side of the family I have 16 of 16 questionnaire responses  *

*  On my side of the family I have 9 of the 16 photos I need  *

*  On Dave's side I have 11 of the 22  questionnaire responses  *

*  On Dave's side I have 19 of the 22  photos I need   *

I am currently STUCK!!  I am hoping I will get the missing responses from Dave's family this week.  I really have no clue how I am going to get the pictures I need of my family.  It has been so fun doing this book.  I really like reading every one's responses.  I knew this book might be a huge challenge to gather the answers and the photos of our huge family.    I am sure it will be well worth it when I am finished.  I am also making one for Dave's Mom and one for his Dad.  I am just making nearly exact pages for their book. Each of their books will be 18 pages!!  What have I gotten myself into???  I have 7  pages in each of their books done though so they are nearly half done!

Here are the questions I asked everyone for this Family book:

*  Birthplace* Current residence* Favorite thing to do* Name one odd fact about yourself* If you could spend one day with anyone alive or dead who would it be and why* If you could do anything you wanted to do, what would it be*

I have been really impressed by all of the different responses to these same four questions.  It is really cool!! You can check out what I have finished in the FFFB album.

So, this week is going to be a little crazy.  Dave has to work Monday then is off the rest of this week.  I like having him here but I can't get much done.  On Thursday I am having my oral surgery.  YIKES!  I am really hoping I won't let myself chicken out.  It is a real possibility though.  haha  It seems like there are a lot of things we want to do around here before Thursday, so I am sure Thursday will be here before I even know it.    After I am all healed up I am planning to do a really good cleaning before winter gets here. I get to use that really neat Spring Cleaning Checklist again. I am glad I have time to do a good cleaning before the house gets closed up.  Seems like fall and winter snuck up on use though.  I went to the BX today and they have all of their Christmas stuff out already!!!  Isn't that insane???  Luckily we are nearly done with our Christmas shopping.,  We only have 3 people left to shop for!!!!

I am nearly finished with She Got Up Off the Couch by Haven Kimmel.  Boy, is it good.  So fun to read.  I love it just as much as A Girl Named Zippy.

Well, I think that's enough rambling.  Take care.  Have a great week everyone!!

The Dreaded Dentist

Tomorrow is going to be a really rough day.  I have to go to the DENTIST!!!  I wrote in my blog last December about my terrible dental experience.  I have been dreading going back to the dentist ever since.  I can't put it off any longer though.  My wisdom teeth have been making their way in for the past few years.  I usually have a couple bad weeks then it gets better,  so I ignore the eminent tooth removal.  However I have reached a point that I cannot put it off any more.  I have been having headaches and my whole jaw has been hurting, so today I called and they got me in tomorrow  to see a dentist.   I am really nervous, as soon as I got off the phone I nearly had a panic attack.  NO JOKE.  I had to lay down!

I hope that they will be able to schedule me soon to get the teeth removed but I doubt it.  I am worried if  I have to  wait months and months that I will chicken out! Well, thinking about this has made my head hurt and my heart race so I better go  relax.

Have you had your wisdom teeth removed??  Cut out or pulled??  Did it go smoothly  or did you have problems???

Today is Dave's Birthday!

Dave just got home from work.  It is nearly 2am and we just had birthday cake!!!  We will probably be going to bed soon but technically it is his birthday.  He opened his gifts after we had cake.  My mom gave him a hat, Cabella's tee-shirt, millionaire candy, grill wipes, grill mitts, and a grilling apron.  He was having a ball opening her gift.  I gave him a bunch of movies we love but didn't have; Clerks, Chasing Amy, Mallrats, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bill Strike Back, and Dazed and Confused.  I am really proud of myself for not spilling the beans and surprising him for once.  We are both looking forward to having a movie night real soon.

We found out today that our trip home in October isn't going to happen.  We are really upset.  The next time we will be able to take leave would be April or May.  I don't think we really want to come home in April though so who knows we might not make a trip home until after Dave's deployment.

Well, The Office is on, so I gotta end this.  Take care everyone!!!
