Back to life

Back to life

We have been home for a week!! It doesn't feel like it to me, but Dave told me last night that the time is going by slow for him. I have been working on a couple Christmas gifts this week. And I started the 9th Stephanie Plum book last weekend and I finished it yesterday. All of the boxed we mailed home have arrived and I have unpacked them so I feel like I am getting lots done. Last Saturday I planted my cosmos. I cannot wait to see if they do better this year since I planted them later. They were pretty last year but they didn't grow very tall, I think it was because I planted them before the 2 month rainy season, so maybe they didn't get enough sun to shoot up tall. Then last fall I noticed tall cosmos in late august, so I thought maybe I shouldn't plant them till the end of July... SO I am excited to see what happens.

Wendy has had a tummy ache since Saturday. I called the vet and they said to give her a bland diet for two days. We had to do that once with Puppy and we were told to give him cooked rice and browned ground beef. So I was sorta shocked when they told me to give Wendy boiled chicken, cooked rice and pumpkin! PUMPKIN?!! I assume that she ate it this morning but when I woke up she was sitting next to the closet that we keep her dog food in. I think she was trying to trick me into feeding her. But I hope this helps her. On Monday she was going out so often to do her business I thought about sneaking her some Imodium to see if it would help... But I didn't. I just felt bad for her, and I felt bad for me because she kept farting really bad.

I am in my 13th week now. I really miss coffee. I go to the doctor next week but just for the girly type exams. No fun baby stuff. Dave did hold Melissa's little chicken pointer thing over my belly and it did the male swing. Dave got a super excited look on his face. I kind of hope it is a boy because Dave wants it to be a boy so badly. It doesn't matter to me, but I want Dave to have what he wants. Plus right now Dave and his brother are the last McMath men. His brother has 2 daughters and I don't know if he will have more kids or not. But if we have a boy then at least the McMath name will go on.

Oh, while I remember. We went to our storage until while we were home and sure enough all of Dave's stuff is gone. It looked like there were two stacks of storage tubs missing too but I cannot think for the life of me what could have been in them. oh well, we have lived without those things for more than 2 years now so we won't miss that stuff I guess. I just hope the dirty low life dirt bag that stole our stuff gets what he deserves. But I really am trying to get over the feeling of being violated like that. we are just pretty disgusted. What is wrong with people?

I gotta go and start my day. Have a great day everyone!! Take care.

Entry for February 15, 2007

Boy have we been busy!! Seems like the days aren't long enough. We went to a fancy smancy French Valentine's dinner last night. The food was very seafoodie but it was ok and we didn't die from the huge shrimp with its head still on in our salads..... I will never look at shrimp the same again!!

We are leaving tomorrow morning for a weekend in Sapporo. We are riding the train for 6 hours to get there. We have to go through a underwater tunnel for awhile of the trip which makes me very uneasy! Dave and I are going to watch a movie or two to pass the time so hopefully I wont be thinking about being under the ocean in a tunnel on a train. whew...gag.

We sent Wendy to the Kennel this afternoon and I am feeling pretty guilty. I hope she does OK so that I feel better about leaving her for the summer while I am in Michigan.

Well, I better go finish packing. Everyone have a great long weekend!!

Does this make me crazy??

Well, I feel really embarrassed but very excited about something. I am a little afraid to talk about it. Well, I left myspace. It was so annoying. I don't know, its just that I have 360 and I like it so much more that Myspace. SO I left myspace... But last night I joined a site that is almost the exact same concept of Myspace..... Only its for Dogs!! Does this make me a crazy dog owner?? My dogs now have pages on the Internet and they already have 8 friends!!!!! It is really fun for some reason. The site is called www.dogster.com Do any of you have a pet registered on the site??? If you want to check out Wendy's page check out the link below.

Hey its Monday already!!

Well,  it is the beginning of another week.  I didn't post our menu last week because I just threw a bunch of stuff together.  It just seems I am not in the mood to try new recipes lately.  So we are going to enjoy our favorites.  This is what I have planned...

Monday- Leftovers like always

Tuesday-Ham and Cheese Omelet Bake( nothing wrong with breakfast for dinner)

Wednesday- Chili

Thursday- Chicken Fried Rice

Friday- Pizza Skillet hot Dsh

Saturday- Dinner out

Sunday- Spinach and Beef Enchiladas

I am going to clean the house up a little this afternoon.  I have a few loads of laundry to do.  I am really enjoying the change in weather here.  It has been snowing and the few inches we got Saturday night are still on the ground.   It is really pretty outside.  We took Wendy for walk last night, it was really fun to bundle up and watch her enjoy the snow.

I started a new book called Mr. Ives Christmas.  I am not very far into it yet though.

Well, I have stuff to do.  Take care!

Dog Park

So, holy moly there is a dog park on base!!!!  Who knew?  Not us, and boy are we glad we found out.  We took Wendy to the dog park today.  The weather was so nice, warm and sunny, perfect for a day at the park.  She loved it!!  She didn't care much about the other 6 or 7 dogs there though.  She was concerned about making sure she sniffed every inch of that place.  I think she really enjoyed being off the leash getting to sniff where and what she wanted.  For as much as she liked the sniffing she was doing she wasn't quite comfortable with the other dogs sniffing her butt.  She wasn't upset but she tried to tuck it down away from them as best she could.  LOL  It was funny.  After she spend 30 minutes sniffing she found herself a playmate.  A poodle of some sort that was the exact right size for her.  They chased each other, which is Wendy's favorite activity, forever.  They mostly chased each other around one of the benches.  They would fake each other out standing on opposite sides.  Like one would take a step to the left and the other would copy and then to the right then after a few of these fakes one would make an actual trip around the bench.  It was really great.  She wore herself out.  Once her poodle friend left a little shitzu came in but he wasn't much into chasing her.  He barked and faked charging at her, which she wasn't impressed by.    Then she tried her best to get this terrier to chase her it took many attempts but the terrier finally partook and chased her.  only to have her of course out run the thing.  The terrier didn't think that was too much fun, he only chased her twice.

We brought her home and he was pooped.     She is in a good mood.  We were really glad that we got to see her interact with other people and kids.  We were worried about her lack of socialization compared to the way Anna was brought up.  We were always taking Anna to Petsmart to get her used to being around strangers and having strangers petting her.    I think that has a big part in how great a pooch she is.  I am relieved that Wendy is just as good with people.  Whew!!

sure I'll blog again soon.  Tomorrow is the Cherry Blossom  Festival.  Crossing our fingers for good weather.

wendy has a new toy

I think this maybe the most interesting thing I have blogged about in a while.  LOL  We bought Wendy a new toy at the 100 yen store the other night.  It is pictured here.  LOL  the pics on our profile are action shots of her playing with it.  I can hold the end of this toy up level with my face and she can jump up and grab it.  She is a short doggie, but man can she jump.  It is like watching a circus act or something.  I was able to catch her high leaps in a couple of the pics posted.   Please take a look.  When you see the end of the toy remember I was holding it up to height of my head.

P. S. these pictures will also be put into Wendy's picture folder.

made it!!

Hey all!!  I am back in Japan land.  Things worked out fine in Tokyo.  They let me in with no passport problems, so it was a huge relief.  Dave met me at the airport and we stayed the night in Tokyo at the Holiday Inn.  It was nice to sleep!! I was really tired from the plane ride.

We took the bullet train home this morning.  It was nice having him to carry my bags.  Tokyo station is hectic to say the least, so it is traumatic if you are lugging around luggage.  LOL  We got home a few hours ago after stopping and doing a little food shopping.  Came hope to a loose dog in the house which was scary.  Dave has been keeping Wendy in the kitchen while he is gone at work and he left her in the kitchen when he left for Tokyo.  She made  an escape from the kitchen apparently, but luckily she didn't make a big mess.  She of course pooped and peed, but on the vinyl runner by the door so it made clean up easy.  Thank heavens we have that thing! The carpet would have been a big mess to clean up.  She didn't tear anything up.  I was kinda proud, first that she leapt over the 41/2 foot doggie gate , then she behaved herself.   Wendy seemed glad to see me.  She sniffed the Anna and Molly scent right  away and went crazy!  LOL

Well, I am going to post pics of Chicago and our train experience.  enjoy.  take care.

A Day in the Snow

We just got in from playing in the backyard with Wendy. She was very confused when we both went outside with her.  She loved running around us trying to figure out what we were doing.  We built a snowman to try to cure her of her fear of snowmen.  When we come upon them on our walks she is paralyzed with fear.  It is really funny, she is too scared to even run away she usually freezes and cant move at all.  LOL

Well, she sure wasn't afraid of our snowman.  She kept scratching at the balls of snow.  When we were done she went after his carrot nose and got a few big bites out of that carrot.  It was a fun afternoon and we are warming up with some Hot Chocolate.    Now we are going to spend a quiet Sunday afternoon home.  Tomorrow is Superbowl Monday.  LOL The game is on at eight am.  Well, check out the new album. tata for now.
